Terms of Use
Using the site
By reading a page or running the calculator you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
Education only
Retirement Odds Lab explains a planning method and offers a free simulation tool. Nothing here is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here tells you to buy, sell, save, spend or withdraw anything. Talk to a qualified professional about your own circumstances.
What the results are
A result is the output of a model fed with the assumptions printed beside it. It is not a forecast, a prediction or a statement about your personal chances. Different assumptions give different results, the model leaves out taxes, health costs and changing inflation, and real markets may do things the historical data never did. You are responsible for how you use any result.
Data and sources
Return assumptions are computed from a public historical dataset named on the methodology page, and other facts name the pages they came from and the date we read them. Pages can be out of date or wrong; check anything that matters at the source.
Our relationship with Augusta Precious Metals
If you ask Augusta for its information kit through one of our buttons and later become its customer, Augusta may pay us at no extra cost to you. That payment does not decide any figure or sentence on the site. Anything between you and Augusta is covered by Augusta's own terms, not these. Read the disclosure.
Outside links
Links to other sites are for reference. Those sites have their own terms and policies, which we do not control.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law permits, Retirement Odds Lab is not responsible for a loss that follows from using the site or relying on a result produced by it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Ownership
Unless a page credits another source, the text, design and code are ours. You may quote a short passage if you name the site and link back.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
